Bobbarlu Vada



Bobbarlu is known as Black eyed peas/Cow peas.  It is full of fiber as well as iron. You can learn more about these peas Here.



To make these vada you will need

Bobbarlu....1 cup
Sago/Sabudana....1/4th C ( optional)



Onion..........1
Cumin seeds...1 tsp
Chopped Coriander leaves ...2 tbsp
Grated Ginger....1 tsp
Green Chilly....6
Red Chilly powder...1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder....1/4 tsp
Aam Chur/Dried Mango Powder...1/2 tsp
Salt...1 tsp
Oil for frying the Vada



  • Wash and soak Bobbarlu/Cow peas for 6 hours. 
  • Saok Sago for 2 hrs.Drain and keep it aside.
  • Grind the peas along with green chilly and cumin seeds by adding very little water.
  • Chop the onion.
  • Mix the ground mixture with all other ingredients including sago  except oil.
  • Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.
  • Make i inch flat kebabs out of the ground bobbarlu mixture and fry until they appear crispy and golden brown.
Serve hot along with tea!!
